Your role and ours
You're the controller of your own conversation data. LangZap acts as the operator, processing that data only to provide the service you subscribed to.
Whether there's joint controllership when the data belongs to a contact of yours who isn't a LangZap customer is still pending a legal decision.
The legal basis for your contact's data
When you turn on translation or transcription in a conversation with someone, that person hasn't subscribed to LangZap and hasn't given LangZap direct consent.
The applicable legal basis, legitimate interest or performance of a contract the contact isn't a party to, is still pending a legal decision.
International transfer
Audio processed to become text may be sent to a transcription service outside Brazil.
The required contractual clause and safeguard, and what must appear in the notice to the data subject, are still pending a legal decision.
Minors
A customer's contact could be a minor. Whether there's an additional obligation, and how it applies in practice, is still pending a legal decision.
Your rights as a data subject
Access, correction, deletion and portability of your data: through WhatsApp itself (export, delete everything) or through your account on the site. For any other request, or if you're not a customer but a contact of one, write to contato@langzap.com.br.
